Introduction

Q. What can I find at The Select Source?

A. In our online marketplace, you will find various electronics and other items available for sale. Product will be labeled as new, consumer returns, as is and recyclables. Most product is sold in an auction format with an unspecified reserve, letting the marketplace decide the final price. New auctions are added daily, so be sure to visit our site frequently.

Q. How can I buy from The Select Source?

A. Step 1: Register
Registering as a buyer on The Select Source is free and easy. Click here to complete the new member registration application. You will receive a response from our team within 24 hours, but most registration applications are approved within an hour.

 Step 2: Find Merchandise
Browse auctions on our site by performing a basic keyword search from the search bar at the top of every page. Featured Auctions are placed on the home page for easy reference.

 Step 3: Place a Bid
Once you have a valid user account, you may bid on any auction by entering your maximum bid in the "Place Bid" box on any auction view page. Your maximum bid will handle bidding the auction for you to a maximum amount you have designated when you aren’t available to watch the auction live.

 Step 4: Pay for Items
We currently accept PayPal for a secure and easy payment process.

 Step 5: Receive Items
Items are typically shipped within 2 business days of receipt of payment.

 Step 6: Manage Your Account
Visit the "Dashboard" section of our site to view your transactions, change your profile, add auctions to your watch list, and more.

Q. How do I register?

A. Registering as a buyer on The Select Source is free and easy. Click here to complete the new member registration application. You will receive a response from our team within 24 hours, but most registration applications are approved within an hour.

Q. Why do I need to register?

A. Buyers and sellers must register with us because we need to collect information for legitimacy verification.

Q. What do I do if my application has not been accepted?

A. To request a review of your application, you may reach out to us at info@theselectsource.com for more information.

Q. How do I change my user ID?

A. You cannot change your user ID. Your user ID is auto-generated by the system and cannot be changed.

Q. What do I do if I forget my user ID and/or password?

A. Click here if you have forgotten your login and/or password. You may also contact us at info@theselectsource.com.

Finding Merchandise

Q. How do I start buying?

A. Once you have registered and found auctions you would like to bid on you can place your bid by entering your maximum bid in one of the "Place Bid" boxes located on the auction page.

Q. How do I find merchandise?

A. Find merchandise easily on www.theselectsource.com by one of the following methods:

 Home Page
Our home page has all of our Featured Auctions. These are auctions that are of special interest to our community so you want to check these out.

 Search Bar
Use our search bar across the top of each page to search auctions by keyword, product category, location.

Q. How do I find merchandise that can be shipped overseas?

A. We will work with your special needs for exporting material that is listed for sale. You can contact us at info@theselectsource.com to see the auction you are interested in can be exported.

Q. What types of merchandise do you offer?

A. In our online marketplace, you will find various electronics and other items available for sale. Product will be labeled as new, consumer returns, as is and recyclables. Q. What conditions of merchandise do you offer?

A. Product available in our online marketplace will be listed in one of the following categories:

 New
This product is brand new, in the box with all accessories.

 Refurbished
This product has been refurbished to "like new" standards and will be fully functional to the manufacturers standards.

 Customer Returns
This product has been returned by a customer to a retail location or a manufacturer. It may be functional or not.

 As Is
This product is untested, not inspected and should only be considered by professional buyers.

 Recyclables
This product is for recycle only and should only be considered by professional buyers who can evaluate recycling value.

Q. Who supplies this merchandise?

A. Merchandise available in our online marketplace is from reputable, vetted sellers who have excess product. These sellers are verified and vetted by The Select Source prior to being approved to sell in the online marketplace.

Q. How do I file a dispute?

A. You will send an email detailing the issue to info@theselectsource.com and we will respond to your inquiry and find a resolution.

Bidding

Q. How do I place a bid?

A. Once you have a valid user account, you may bid on any auction by entering your maximum bid in the "Place Bid" box on any auction view page. You may also enter a Proxy Bid that will handle bidding the auction for you to a maximum amount you have designated when you aren’t available to watch the auction live.

Q. How can I automatically increase my bid? What is proxy bidding?

A. Placing a proxy bid allows the system to bid on your behalf as other bids happen within the auction. With proxy bidding you provide the maximum bid you are willing to offer for that auction and the system will handle the rest. As other bidding happens within the auction the incremental bidding will take over and place the bids on your behalf up to the maximum dollar amount you’ve entered.

Q. How can I monitor the status of my bids?

A. You can monitor your bids within the auction or in the "Dashboard" section.

Q. How can I cancel a bid?

A. You cannot cancel a bid that you’ve made in the online marketplace. The bid is an agreement between you and the seller and is final.

Q. I am a new first time buyer on The Select Source and I have already won two auctions. Why can’t I place a bid on any additional auctions?

A. Until you have successfully completed and paid for the auctions you’ve won the system will not allow you to place additional bids.

Payment

Q. How do I pay?

A. Currently all payments will be handled through PayPal.

Q. When is my payment due?

A. Payment is due 4 business days after you have won the auction.

Q. Is there a penalty if I don’t make my payment on time?

A. Your account will be suspended if you do not make a payment for an auction where you are the winning bidder.

Q. Is payment processing safe and secure?

A. Yes, buyers are protected by Paypal Purchase Protection. Please see the www.paypal.com for more details.

Shipping

Q. Who is responsible for shipping and/or shipping costs?

A. Most auctions will include shipping from the seller. If you purchase the auction you agree to pay the listed shipping costs as well. Some auctions might be local pickup only, please note these special situations and the details within the auctions before bidding.

Q. May I arrange my own shipping?

A. Only if the auction is listed as having BUYER ARRANGES shipping within the auction details.

Q. How can I consolidate my shipment?

A. When you are paying for your "Won" auctions you will mark the check boxes next to all items you would like to pay for together. Once you hit the "Pay Now" button the system will automatically calculate the combined shipping rate and you will see "Shipping Discount" as a line item before submitting payment.

Q. How long will it take for my items to ship?

A. Items will ship 2-4 business days after payment is made.

Submitting a Dispute

Q. How can I file a dispute for merchandise I have received?

A. You can email us at info@theselectsource.com and provide us with your auction information and contact and information. We will respond back within 24 business hours and help you to a resolution.

Q. Can I return merchandise after it has been delivered?

A. Typically, you will not be able to return merchandise unless the seller you purchased from offered a warranty on the material. Please read all warranty information provided before bidding on the auction.
